Kate Henshaw-Nuttall, is a Nigerian Television and film actress, activist, and politician. Henshaw is known for ‘River of Tears (1&2)’ (2008), A Brighter Sun (1&2) and ‘Stronger Than Pain’ (2007).
She studied medical microbiology at Lagos University Teaching Hospital and went on to work at the Bauchi State General Hospital. In 1993 she switched gears and auditioned for the lead role in the movie When the Sun Sets and was handed the role. This was her first appearance in a major Nollywood movie which opened door for a rather successful Nigerian Movie career. Since then Henshaw has starred in over 50 Nollywood movies.
In 2008, Kate Henshaw won the African Movie Academy Awards for the best Actress in leading role for her role in the movie ‘Stronger than Pain’
Henshaw was also appointed alongside Dan Foster and Yibo Koko as one of the judges in Nigeria Got Talent, a Nigerian reality talent show which is part of the Got Talent franchise. It was launched in 2012 on television stations AIT and NTA.
In August 2015 she announced that she was running for a seat in Nigeria’s House of Representatives. In the same year she was appointed by the Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade, as Special Adviser, Liaison, Lagos.
