A passionate panafropolitan feminist, anti-FGM activist and survivor, war resister and human rights defender, a national of Senegal, Diakhoumba Gassama has more than 10 years of experience working for intergovernmental organizations in Africa, Europe, New York and Asia and the Pacific, providing country advisory services and participating in inter-governmental processes around human rights, gender equality, inclusive democratic governance and sustainable development.
An IknowPolitics Expert, Vice president of the Reseau National des Jeunes Femmes et Filles Leaders du Senegal, a member of AWID, the African Feminist Forum, FEMNET, Girls not Bride and CRAAD-OI,Diakhoumba is also an active member of the RESURJ global alliance of feminists under 40 working tirelessly to advance sexual and reproductive justice through national, regional and international advocacy and movement building strategies in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe and Middle East. Diakhoumba is also co-founder of the Fund for Francophone Africa Women’s Organization.
